AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. In the team, she made her professional debut and helped the team win the league title. Morgan was 22 years old at the time, making her the youngest member of the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
